Reincarnated

Old soul

I have felt this earth’s surface under my feet before.

Another life, perhaps,

another body suit.

Remnants of past lives broadcasted through déjà vu

Phenomenon in which messages are foreshadowed,

screened through your mind’s eye to follow.

I walk the path that is a lonely one,

But I’m writing the map and my light shines strong.

So much more I have yet to know,

but a hint of worldly wisdom I do bestow.

Respect for elders, suffragists.

I speak for all the women who were, and are still oppressed.

Kate Chopin

Didn’t want to exist underneath a man,

an awakending therefore took stand.

Virginia Woolf

Had no room of one’s own to write out her truth.

Thoughts of suicide were often dancing along these brilliant, troubled minds.

And Ms. Rosa Parks

With your courage, a radical change you did spark.

Stubborn? No.

Just refuse to live with this shit anymore.

I was blessed with the right to exercise my self-assertion,

Broaden my horizons,

become a modern day Woman.

And I have a room of one’s own in which to write the contents of my heart.

Reincarnation exists in my spirit.

I am infused with fighter feminiity,

 that rang clear throughout history.
